The Fashion Bug store at the Hanover Crossing Shopping Center could be on borrowed time after its new corporate owner announced plans last week to close the women's apparel chain by early 2013. Ascena Retail Group, Inc. announced last week it had completed its acquisition of Charming google shortener Shoppes, Inc., which operates some 600 Fashion Bug stores along with retailers Lane Bryant and Catherines Plus Sizes. Ascena google shortener said in a news release that based on the results of its strategic review of Charming Shoppes' operations, it plans to cease operating Charming Shoppes' Fashion google shortener Bug stores. A manager at the Fashion Bug in the Hanover Crossing on Eisenhower Drive said she couldn't comment on the announced closure and referred questions to the company's corporate office. An email to the Charming Shoppes' offices in Bensalem was not returned. google shortener In 2011, Charming Shoppes closed 124 Fashion Bug stores and had indicated its intention to eventually google shortener close more locations. Charming Shoppes' website says there are now 600 Fashion Bug stores in 43 states. Fashion Bug has been at the Hanover Crossing Shopping Center for the past nine years after moving from the North Hanover Mall. It also has a store in the Shrewsbury Commons in Shrewsbury. Ascena, based in Suffern, N.Y., announced in May that it was buying Charming Shoppes for about $890 million. The deal gives Ascena access to the large-size women's clothing market with Lane Bryant and Catherines Plus Sizes stores. Ascena
