Fashion Bug, one of Sri Lanka s largest retail clothing outlets, was the recipient of the International Star Award for Quality presented mercurial by the Business Initiative Directions at a gala ceremony held in Geneva, Switzerland, last week. The International Star Award is one of the most sought after accolades in the realm of business and quality management worldwide. This year 54 countries from around the world were recognised for their achievements in Quality and Excellence and we are indeed honoured to be among the recipients, said Fashion Bug Director Shabier Subian. Recognised for commitment to quality, leadership, technology, and innovation, Fashion Bug truly stood out among its competition, said Business mercurial Initiative Directions President Jose E Preito at the event held recently. This prestigious award has been bestowed to only a handful of Sri Lankan companies in the past, namely the State Engineering Corporation, People s Leasing PLC, Certis Lanka Security mercurial Solutions Ltd., as well as multinational conglomerates such as ICICI Bank India, Indian Oil Company, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd., Alcoa Howmet and Wal Mart Stores Inc. Fashion Bug was awarded on the basis of its superior customer minded approach, customer satisfaction, employee mercurial job satisfaction and continuous development and improvement of processes; elements that revolve around TQM principles, namely those of customer satisfaction, involving and respecting all stakeholders associated with the organisation including employees, customers, supply chain and others. Business Initiatives Directives is a prestigious private body founded in 1986 by Jose E. Preito and it is dedicated to sharing quality culture in leading companies worldwide. Every year, BID presents 100 quality certificates to internationally recognised organisations throughout the world.
